Internet Porn Can Be Addicting- Possibly
Do you like this story?
I was recentlyy brushing up on my Constitutional Law and the dormant commerce clause in Harvard Law Review's November 2008 edition, you know the one that allows states to give tax exemptions:
Dormant Commerce Clause — State Taxation of Municipal Bonds.
— Fueled by concerns about economic protectionism,
1 modern dormantcommerce clause jurisprudence is based on the presumption thata facially discriminatory state law affecting interstate commerce is unconstitutional.2 The presumption can be overcome if the state candemonstrate that the discriminatory law serves a compelling and legitimatestate purpose,3 or if the state goes beyond regulation of the
market and is itself a market participant.4 With its 2007 ruling in
United Haulers Ass’n, Inc. v. Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Management
Authority,5 the Supreme Court provided another exception to the
presumption of unconstitutionality by introducing a government entity
exemption that allows for state laws favoring government entities to be
exempt from traditional dormant commerce clause scrutiny
When I was approached by Mikey-Love who stated to me that the girl from yesterday's Hammers post was none other than NextDoor Nikki, the Internet porn queen. He went on and on about how she used to be in his spank bank around five years ago before the advent of Tube8 and such. Needless to say, the next three hours didn't involve the dromant commerce clause, so I guess... yeah, Internet porn is pretty addictive.
